Arrive 5-10 minutes before your class is scheduled to begin. Classes may run the risk of running slightly over the allotted time. I like to create a fun and work environment where students don’t feel pushed to make mistakes. So, please plan accordingly

FOOD For full-day classes, there will be a one-hour lunch break. Feel free to go grab a bite or bring your lunch.
Gingerwoodworks supplies all materials and materials. You are welcome to bring your own PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) if you wish. Although our classes are fun and light we do have some requirements. A waiver form will need to be filled out before the class begins.
Always Wear Safety Equipment
Wear ear protection when using loud power tools like routers and surface planers. NEVER BE WITHOUT YOUR SAFETY GLASSES. These should be the first thing you reach for when entering the shop.
Wear The Right Clothes
No baggy or loose clothing. We don’t want to run any risk of them getting caught in any machinery. As a result, try to always wear clothes that better match the woodworking environment and protect you. Ensure that all jewelry is removed before commencing work. You might be required to tuck in your shirt or roll up your sleeves before work can begin. Proper footwear is required (no open-toed shoes, Crocs, sandals, etc.) We don’t have enough time to make wooden shoes in class.
Bring a Clear Mind
It’s like when you’re driving a car: you want to stay out of the alcohol and drug cabinets to avoid accidents. If you are over-tired, stressed, or anxious, please do not come to our classes. If we need to reschedule you, we will work it out. Please don’t bring distractions into the shop. Headphones might get you into the flow state, but for others, they can be a distraction. The same applies to phones if you need to make a call, no problem, please just step outside the shop.
Bottom line safety is very important. You will never be required to do a task if you feel uncomfortable! There's no shame in working at a different pace than others.
Attendence
If class attendance is too low, we may have to reschedule. We will happily book you into the next class window or offer a refund.
