Honey locust dining room table
This dining table was made in 2017 for my own home. I remember the build of this table was all too vividly. My wife asked me to build us a new family dining room table. I had set aside some honey locust wood that was all from the same tree so the quantity of wood was highly limited. After six months of planning and designing, (and procrastination) I had a clear vision of the new life for this tree.
We moved into our current home. It was our first time hosting our family Christmas dinner. Finally, it was Christmas morning, our tree was set up and lit, presents and cards wrapped and stockings filled, preparations for dinner well underway. However, there was one small problem the table was not done yet. For some reason, my wife was freaking out. I casually slipped out for a QUICK 4 hours and voila just before the guests arrived so did the table! Our first Christmas in our home was nothing short of special with our family gathering around this stunning table. Defiantly a holiday we (and especially my wife) will remember.
The grain, figure, and overall aesthetic of live-edge dining tables make for a great conversation piece. Our tables provide an heirloom-quality piece of furniture that can be used for generations to come. I believe every slab is a natural work of art and should be preserved in the utmost way possible. A live edge is the unhindered natural shape cut directly from a tree. When working with raw slabs we give careful attention to the live-edge portion to preserve its natural curvature and aesthetic.
