Low BookShelf
A traditional piece of furniture to match a traditional home. The client and I designed this piece over the course of a year. We had gone back and forth with little elements to add and what we landed on fit this home’s space perfectly. What we wanted was a traditional low-sitting bookshelf that fills many functions needed in this room. They wanted a space for their record player along with space for books while not sacrificing the traffic path in the room. We went with cherry and black walnut for the species to blend the color pallet from the painting above. As the cherry ages, it will take a beautiful dark red tone. Overall the solid cherry flat panels and the smooth curves along the bottom rail along with solid joinery made this project one of my personal favorites.
If you are curious about the design and want to know more about how we tackle custom projects like this check out the Involvement side of my business works.
