Community Table
With custom furniture, I get asked to make or consult on all sorts of projects. For this table, the client came to me and described what I can only call a “community table.” The table would not exclusively be for dining nor work or decoration. This table was a place for everyone to gather.
At the beginning, the client hand-selected the individual wood pieces. The drastic color variations throughout the table is created as the tree is beginning its decaying process. While harvesting trees at the beginning of decay can be difficult, the best harvesting processes will create stunning results. Gaps in the wood were filled with clear epoxy and the wood was given our pure finish. The live edge is the unhindered natural shape cut directly from the tree.
Our tables can be customized to your wants and will provide a heirloom piece of furniture that can be used for generations to come. Ginger Woodworks believes that every slab is a natural work of art that should be artfully preserved to last for decades to come.
This table was designed step-by-step in conjunction with our client who commissioned this table. This item has been sold, but if you are interested in a similar piece or have a vision of a project, don’t hesitate to contact us.
