Trust Table
Let’s rewind a bit when I started my business I had been woodworking for around 9 years. But to a new customer that does not say a lot about what a person is capable of. One of the biggest hurdles of starting my company started was having peoples trust me. Clients have to trust me to give them exactly what they envision. For me just starting I had little to no photos showing clients this is a real-world example of what I can build for them this was a challenge…
I consider this project to be my first big project! I had met the client at the Cazenovia farmers market and we started to chat for well over an hour. We talked a lot about woodworking and more about my company’s vision of getting into high-class furniture. Over the next few months with some back and forth we decided to start the project. This is also when I started to fully embrace the Involvement side of my business. They had come out to my shop during the building process as we went over dozens of details. They helped arrange the boards in the orientation they wanted, we went over imperfections in the wood and how to best suit what the table wanted.
In the end, the project was a huge success! We had built more than a table we had to build a personal relationship. I had gotten to know their tastes of what they wanted and looked for in their project. A couple of days later after all was said and done photographing and installation I received a knock and my door. They wanted to thank me for my hard work and a received my first ever gift from a client. Apparently, on one of our shop visits, they had asked me what I was lacking for tools in the shop. I responded, “I loved woodpecker tools and always wanted one of their large squares”.
This project for me marks a turning point in my company I achieved new personal goals and had been handed a clear image of what GingerWoodworks strives to stand for.
This Table was designed step-by-step in conjunction with our client who commissioned this project. This item has been sold, but if you are interested in a similar piece or have a vision of a project, don’t hesitate to contact us.
